Objectius de l'assignatura / competències (2010-11)

La ciencia del color es una materia interdisciplinar, que se nutre de fundamentos físico-químicos y psicológicos de la interacción luz-materia-ojo, para aplicarlo en teorías y técnicas que sirven para diseñar, fabricar y medir objetos coloreados. La asignatura sirve para fomentar y capacitar al estudiante en la implementación de los conocimientos asimilados previamente en la definición y resolución de problemas reales relacionados con el control del color en numerosos sectores industriales (textil, pinturas, plásticos, cosmética, impresión, cerámica, imagen multimedia y realidad virtual, decoración y restauración cromática en arquitectura y arte, etc). OBJETIVOS GENERALES: OG1- Adquirir una panorámica general de la materia Ciencia y Tecnología del color, y su relación con la sociedad y tecnología actual. OG2- Comprender los fundamentos físico-químicos de la interacción luz-materia y percepción visual humana en todas sus variantes principales, incluso relacionadas con las Ciencias de la Imagen. OG3- Fomentar al estudiante para aplicar los conocimientos obtenidos en esta asignatura en la resolución de problemas prácticos y reales relacionados con el control del color en numerosos sectores industriales. OG4- Comprender las técnicas actuales de reproducción del color mediante medios químicos (colorantes) y digitales o híbridos (pantallas, tecnologías de impresión, etc). OG5- Estimular en el alumno, de forma individual, cooperativa y de trabajo en equipo, en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías de apoyo a la docencia con el fin de llegar a ser conscientes de que es posible aprender disfrutando y alcanzar un rendimiento académico notable. OBJETIVOS COGNITIVOS: OC1- Comprender las causas físico-químicas del color como resultantes de la interacción luz-materia-ojo. OC2- Dominar los fundamentos matemáticos de la codificación y representación numérica y gráfica del color en el sistema visual humano. OC3- Conocer y saber medir las propiedades ópticas y visuales, normales y especiales (fluorescentes, metalizados y perlados, etc) de cualquier material. OC4- Adquirir una panorámica general de los tipos de colorantes, orgánicos e inorgánicos, con propiedades normales o especiales/funcionales, y sus aplicaciones industriales. OC5- Comprender los fundamentos psicológicos de la iluminación y el color para diseñar ambientes seguros y confortables. OC6- Conocer los métodos actuales de reproducción del color, ya sean convencionales (textil, pinturas, etc) como digitales (pantallas, impresión, etc). OC7- Comprender y adaptar algoritmos para la codificación y transformación eficiente de información visual y cromática entre dispositivos multimedia (captura, visualización, impresión, etc). OBJETIVOS PROCEDIMENTALES (DESTREZAS A ADQUIRIR): OP1- Medir, calcular y representar gráficamente la apariencia visual de materiales (materiales opacos, perlados, fluorescentes, etc), y sus diferencias, asociados a numerosos sectores industriales. OP2- Caracterizar espectral y colorimétricamente cualquier tipo de colorante (tinte o pigmento) y material susceptible de ser coloreado para usarse en cualquier sistema de formulación de colores. OP3- Dominar los lenguajes habituales de comunicación del color (NCS, CIELAB, RGB, CMYK, etc) y sus diccionarios de conversión en función de la tecnología de reproducción del color.

Metodologia docent (2010-11)

Classes teòriques i pràctiques

Clases teóricas y prácticas El profesor, en la docencia presencial, impartirá clases de teoría, del tipo lección magistral, utilizando medios audiovisuales e informáticos. Pero gran parte de la asignatura se realizará aplicando el paradigma basado en el aprendizaje (el alumno participa activamente en el proceso de aprendizaje). Para ello, la asignatura se impartirá en modalidad semi-presencial (b-learning), coordinando actividades y tareas presenciales como virtuales -trabajos individuales (búsqueda por internet, caza del tesoro, etc) y cooperativos (puesta en común), trabajos en equipo-, mediante el uso intensivo del CVirtual (descarga de materiales, entrega de trabajos, foros y debates, etc) y los recursos web2.0 como un blog y un wiki asociados a la asignatura.
