Teor. | 4 | This subject seeks to offer those students who have completed all the English subjects at the Permanent University the opportunity to practise the language and consolidate the knowledge acquired in previous levels. The subject provides a programme based on the discussion in English about current subjects that have been echoed in different cultural expressions: songs, novels, articles and, above all, films. The films (in subtitled original version) will bring us closer to English-speaking countries and allow us to reflect on the cultural and linguistic differences existing between Spanish and English. Students will use English to express their opinion during the debates exploiting the vocabulary and phrases associated with the topics proposed. OBJECTIVES: ¿ Practising oral production extensively. ¿ Consolidating the knowledge of English acquired in previous courses. ¿ Enlarging vocabulary. ¿ Participating in debates. ¿ Expressing opinions in English. ¿ Expressing agreement/disagreement. ¿ Analysing cultural differences. ¿ Being critical with our own culture. ¿ Getting to know artistic expressions of English-speaking countries. ¿ Opening our mind to other ways of thinking and seeing the world. |
