Crdts. Teor. | 4 | This subject has several objectives. In the first place, to explain such historical phenomena as the Islamic city, feudalism, the Reconquest, the creation of the first Christian towns and the Renaissance and Baroque city, in an entertaining, practical way. We will use the most accessible examples in time and space with models of political, urban, cultural and religious systems that can help to understand the specific casuistry of world history. The ultimate goal is to make it possible -through the models used (corresponding to the most significant localities in our province, e.g. the old Muslim ¿Medina¿ of Alicante, the castles in the Vinalopo Valley and the city of Orihuela, among others)- for our students to handle the instruments and the essential keys to be able to "read the stones" and understand -in future trips- the various models of urban evolution and social organisation of space through the right interpretation of town plans and a proper visualisation of street maps and the `hallmark¿ monuments of the historic cities analysed. The course tries to make an appropriate use of the resources offered to us by the historical heritage located in our immediate environment, so that students can receive a clear, simple and direct explanation of the dynamic, living History. |
