Objectius de l'assignatura / competències (2013-14)

I. AIMS This is an upper-intermediate course of English designed for people training for the Tourism industry. It introduces key grammar and functional language, vocabulary and communication skills and reviews, and expands those already practised in the intermediate course. a) General objectives: - To consolidate the knowledge acquired in English I for Tourism. - To develop the student´s ability to communicate in English, using the four main skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). - To develop the student´s knowledge of Tourism in English. - To develop the student´s confidence in English. b) Specific objectives: - To make students use their grammar knowledge in the field of tourism. - To make students use the four main skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) in different areas of the tourism industry.

Instruments i criteris d'avaluació (2013-14)

Examen final

Students will be assessed by a multiple-choice test composed of reading, listening, vocabulary and grammar questions (8 points) + Writing (2 points). An oral exam, which is optional but highly recommended, can be based on either a role-play situation or an oral exposition (maximum 0,5 point added to the average mark obtained in the Multiple Choice Test and Writing). In order to get a pass, students must obtain an average of 4.5 points out of 10.
