Instrumentos y criterios de evaluación (2009-10)
Evaluación continua, examen final
a) Exam (60 %)

It wil include grammar and vocabulary activities, as well as questions (short translations, literary conventions, use of language) about the literary extracts discussed in class. There will be a partial exam in February. Students will have to get at least a 5 /10 in the exam in order to pass the course.

b) Class work and participation (10 %)

In order to get class participation credit, students will have to take part in class activities and do their assignments regularly. Those students who cannot attend classes due to illness or work schedule (certificates are required) are asked to contact their teacher in order to find a way to compensate for their absence.

c) Paper on a short story (30 %)

This piece of work is compulsory. Students will read and work on a short story chosen from a list provided by the teacher at the beginning of the second semester. They will have to analyse the story following a set of questions (author, cultural and historical context, structure, use of language). Students will present their work orally during a tutorial at the end of the second semester.
