Course context for academic year 2011-12

Como continuación de la asignatura Matemáticas 1 (35002), presenta las herramientas de Cálculo, ahora en varias variables

El núcleo central de la asignatura  es  el estudio de la convexidad y de los modelos y técnicas de optimización matemática aplicados a problemas en el  entorno económico

La asignatura pretende también contribuir al proceso formativo general de los estudiantes  intentando desarrollar  su capacidad de razonamiento abstracto e intuitivo-geométrico

Se aborda también el  manejo de software informático adecuado para la resolución de los problemas estudiados.

  • CE11 : Analytical skills for developing theoretical frameworks that simplify study of the real economy and the capacity to set appropriate levels of abstraction when studying different economic questions.
  • CE12 : Be able to use the appropriate tools for the analysis, diagnosis and solution of economic questions and problems.
  • CE3 : Bring a rational approach to the analysis and description of any aspect of economic reality.
  • CE4 : Evaluate the consequences of different options for action and select the best one according to the objectives set.
  • CE9 : Understand economic institutions as the result and application of theoretical or formal representations of how the economy works.

  • Use of mathematical language and its application in the representation and interpretation of economic models.
  • To develop the ability to use mathematical reasoning and apply it to real situations in the economic world.
  • To be able to use computer techniques for problem solving.
  • To develop the ability to access the economic information provided by mathematical models.
  • To develop the capacity for the analysis and resolution of problems, both individually and in groups.
  • Knowledge and use of multivariable calculus tools and their interpretation/application in the economic world.
  • To develop the ability to use mathematical optimisation techniques, use of appropriate computer software and its application in the economic world.
