  • CE5: Assess and interpret the cultural diversity of the Region of Valencia, contrasting the indigenous cultures of the region with other cultures with which relations and contacts are established, using the official languages as the vehicles for interaction.
  • CE8: Acquire skills to prepare and display content related to the human and social sciences for dissemination and for educating secondary school children, using personal skills and ICT.

DEGREE IN ARABIC & ISLAMIC STUDIES

DEGREE IN CATALAN STUDIES

General Competences (CG)
  • CG2: Capacity to understand the role of language in the construction of human beings as active members of a linguistic and cultural community and relate this to the function of individuals in society.
  • CG3: Capacity to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques.

General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)
  • CGUA1: Capacity to communicate in a second language in communicative situations (oral and written), with students acquiring a level equivalent to B1 of the common European framework of reference.
  • CGUA2: Ability to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CGUA3: Ability to communicate effectively and have linguistic understanding of one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia (Spanish or Catalan) in their discipline.

Specific Competences (CE)
  • CE10: Capacity to use the pertinent resources and materials for self-learning (bibliographies, dictionaries, reference works, terminological works, tutorials, new technologies) and transmit the information in the Catalan language.
  • CE11: Be able to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques, formulate working hypotheses, demonstrate them with arguments and reach conclusions, as well as recognise and ensure the textual coherence (structure of the text, organisation of ideas, progression of information, use of keywords), to explain and argue any subject related to Catalan language and literature, thus achieving the role of expert, transmitter and adviser regarding the knowledge acquired.
  • CE12: Capacity to understand, value and take advantage of multilingualism with an attitude favouring the standardisation of Catalan, to participate in cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as promoting it to ensure the better social development of the language.

DEGREE IN FRENCH STUDIES

Generic Degree Course Competences
  • CG1: Capacity to work and learn both autonomously and in a team.
  • CG3: Capacity to interpret, analyse, synthesise and evaluate information in a critical manner.
  • CG4: Capacity to master the key theories, perspectives and conceptualisations for building the theoretical framework of the linguistic, cultural and literary disciplines applied to the French language and its literatures as an expert on the subject in one's different professional profiles.

  • CG11: Capacity to respect fundamental rights, the equality of men and women, the respect for and promotion of Human Rights and the principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal accessibility for the disabled.
  • CG12: Capacity to understand the role of language in the construction of human beings as active members of a linguistic and cultural community and relate this to the function of individuals in society.

Generic UA Competences
  • CGUA3: Capacity to communicate and express oneself correctly in one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia, in the context of one's discipline.

Specific Competences (CE)
  • CE2: Capacity to reflect on and describe the particular, unique and exclusive linguistic characteristics of French, as well as those it has in common with other languages, especially those of the Region of Valencia, and apply said knowledge to the analysis, understanding and production of French in oral and written forms.
  • CE11: Capacity to use pertinent resources and materials: bibliographic repertories, reference works and the new ICTs as an autonomous learner able to control the learning process and progress independently in it.
  • CE12: Capacity to respect, value and take advantage of multilingualism and multiculturalism as a social agent participating in building a plural and tolerant society on the basis of the multicultural configuration of the Francophone world.

DEGREE IN ENGLISH STUDIES

General Competences (CG)

Evaluation Tools and Criteria (2011-12)

-       De la calificación de la prueba escrita  se descontarán puntos por faltas de ortografía de conformidad con el baremo aprobado por el Departamento de Filología Española, Lingüística General y Teoría de la Literatura.

EN EL EXAMEN FINAL SERÁ NECESARIO OBTENER AL MENOS UN 4,5 PARA PODER SER EVALUADO Y HACER MEDIA CON EL RESTO DE PORCENTAJES DE EVALUACIÓN.

-  LOS ALUMNOS QUE NO ASISTAN A CLASE TENDRÁN QUE PONERSE EN CONTACTO CON EL PROFESOR PARA REALIZAR UNA SERIE DE ACTIVIDADES SUPLEMENTARIAS INDIVIDUALES.

-       Si el(la) alumno(a) suspende las pruebas escritas pero aprueba las actividades prácticas, la nota de las actividades se le guardará para la segunda convocatoria. En caso contrario, el(la) alumno(a) deberá recuperar esa parte con las actividades que le proponga el profesor.

-       El conjunto de las actividades dirigidas serán presentadas por el profesor tanto en clase, como en el campus virtual.

-       Los alumnos que no puedas asistir a las diversas modalidades organizativas previstas de modo justificado o estén matriculados a tiempo parcial, deberán ponerse en contacto con el profesor para establecer un contrato de aprendizaje específico.
