Course context for academic year 2017-18

La Petrología Sedimentaria es una materia de carácter básico, fundamental en la formación de un graduado en Geología. Los conocimientos adquiridos en esta asignatura podrán aplicarse en numerosos ámbitos de la actividad profesional (geología del subsuelo, recursos naturales, investigación, geología aplicada a la ingeniería, entre otros). La asignatura está coordinada con el resto de las asignaturas del Grado de Geología, especialmente con Mineralogía (2º curso), Sedimentología (2º curso), Estratigrafía (2º curso), Petrología Ígnea y Metamórfica (3ercurso), Geoquímica y Prospección Geoquímica (3er curso) y Petrología Aplicada (4º curso).

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Acquire the fundamentals of geological terminology, nomenclature, agreements, scales and units.
  • CE11 : Understand the different geological processes at work on the Planet.
  • CE14 : Relate the different types of rock with their geodynamic contexts.
  • CE25 : Gather, represent and analyse data using appropriate, field, laboratory and office techniques.
  • CE26 : Integrate field and laboratory data with theory, following a sequence of observation, synthesis and modelling.
  • CE3 : Identify and characterise the properties of different terrestrial materials using geological methods and their corresponding instrumental techniques.
  • CE4 : Identify minerals and rocks, as well as the processes that generate them.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA1 : Acquire the computer knowledge needed for storing, analysing, synthesising and modelling the data required for the degree course.
  • CGUA2 : Understand sources of information for Geology and know how to manage them.
