Course context for academic year 2017-18

Graduates should understand how the functions of these areas relate to the general aims of the production unit and how these aims fit into the overall economic context, and be able to contribute to corporate operations and the improvement of results. Specifically, they should be able to identify and anticipate opportunities, assign resources, organize information, select and motivate personnel, take decisions, attain their proposed objectives and evaluate results.
Looking at it from that angle, venture creation will focus on teaching students within entrepreneurship area, therefore, it will be required that students acquire and development needed skills in order to plan new ventures, in addition to analysing business opportunities in markets, as well as achieving business resources required for starts-up. Finally, students should get knowledge to lunch a venture in order to be able to achieve personal and professional business goals, previously set out.

  • CE10 : Know how to use different technical instruments for the analysis of operations and assimilate the main theories of organisations to be able to analyse a company in its context.
  • CE11 : Understand the most common strategic analysis tools for analysing companies in their context.
  • CE14 : Have a basic understanding of those elements of the legal code that allow this dimension to be included when analysing companies and their context.
  • CE2 : Integrate oneself in any functional area of a small, medium or large company or organisation and carry out all the management tasks involved without problems.
  • CE3 : Use relevant computer records to evaluate the situation and possible evolution of a company.
  • CE5 : Draft overall management projects or projects dealing with functional areas of the company.
  • CE8 : Use accounts to analyse a company in its context by using different technical instruments.

Learning objectives:


Identify opportunities and threats about new ideas of ventures in addition to strengths and internals weaknesses, proposing strategic alternatives of business decisions through various functional areas. Understand connections and consequences of business decisions through a variety of functional areas Explain foreseeable evolution of new ventures based on business decisions taken. Draft a business plan gathering a combination of business decisions. Design the more interesting structure to new venture. Propose solutions in the scope of business operations and its internal organization in order to be able to supply properly a product or service of a new venture creation. Set out and propose more interesting strategic solutions to starts-up. Draft interesting solutions to new initiatives from law, especially commercial.

Specific objectives provided by the professor.

Overall aim of this subject is boost new venture creation, in particular small ventures, analysing circumstances that they would go around the role of entrepreneur. In addition to this is required that:

  • Determine and assessment business opportunities which society shows.
  • Develop steps needed to target market, making decision analysis concerning functional areas that they become a reality joined planning a business plan.
  • Analysis variables taking place in management daily operation.
