This module focuses on 20th century American literature and is a companion  course to "American Literature from its Origins to the 19th Century". Our selection of representative authors and texts is intended to introduce students to the richness and variety of American literature in this period. A strong emphasis will be placed on studying texts in their wider historical and intellectual contexts, which will enable students to enhance their understanding of the history and culture of the USA.
