Course context for academic year 2017-18

This class explores the earliest literary records in English from the Anglo-Saxon period up until the end of the Middle Ages. Owing to the difficulty of reading some of the texts in their original form, some works will be analyzed in present-day English translations. Still, students will be exposed to encountering the original compositions in medieval English, both in manuscript and incunabular format.
