Course context for academic year 2016-17

La asignatura de Biología Celular se dirige al estudio de la organización estructural y funcional de la célula eucariota, no sólo de cada una de sus partes sino de las relaciones entre los diferentes orgánulos y los procesos que en ella tienen lugar (secreción, transporte, señalización, proliferación, etc.). Las prácticas de la asignatura se basan en la utilización del microscopio y la realización de diferentes técnicas para visualizar distintos tipos celulares y sus estructuras, aquellas de mayor valor pedagógico. Es una disciplina imprescindible también para conocer los otros los niveles de complejidad, tanto inferiores (atómico y molecular) como superiores (de sistemas, individuos, asociaciones de individuos, etc.) impartidos en otras materias (Bioquímica y Biología Molecular, Genética, Fisiología, Microbiología, Botánica, Zoología, etc.).

 

Adecuación al perfil profesional: Proporciona conocimientos imprescindibles para el desarrollo de la práctica totalidad de las ocupaciones profesionales de un Biólogo (sanitaria, ambiental, biotecnología, etc.) recogidas en el Libro Blanco de los estudios de Biología (http://www.aneca.es/var/media/150328/libroblanco_biologia_def.pdf).

 

Adecuación al perfil académico: En el contexto académico, la Biología Celular es fundamental por ser una de las disciplinas básicas de la Biología moderna, ya que las células constituyen la unidad fundamental de todos los organismos, los que a su vez son el objeto material de la Biología (De Juan, J. 1999. ¿De qué están hechos los organismos?: el nacimiento de la mirada histológica.
