Course context for academic year 2017-18

The tourist information geolocation is becoming a very effective way to improve the management of resources involved in this type of economic activity, allows the spatial relationship with other phenomena taking place in the territory, facilitates spatial tasks and improves disclosure for the promotion and marketing of tourism resources, using electronic media and the Internet provide the WEB.

The widespread use of social networks and Web 2.0 enhances the tendency to location on destinations, routes, travel and interesting products, streamlining the electronic media for dissemination and knowledge sharing by Internet.

This course proposes, through various exercises, the ability to be gaining the skills to create geographic information associated with tourist information for publication on the Internet, manage locally and in the "Cloud"

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2017-18

-Emphasize the importance of serving GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION managing tourism activities from a territorial perspective.

-Enhance the role of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) and geographic information systems (GIS DATABASES) for its effectiveness in studies of tourist spaces

-Allow the students lay the foundation for a foundation necessary for the treatment and representation of digital geographic information and assess the benefits of using these computer resources in their future professional activities

-Train in basic management of most common tools or affordable in the mapping process and the treatment of geographic data associated to tourism for processing, by performing exercises scheduled for representation, electronic publishing or printing

-Training for project development work with these teconologías tourism promotion for broadcast and telematics
