Course context for academic year 2016-17

La farmacología es una asignatura de carácter básico imprescindible para el desarrollo del ejercicio
profesional de la enfermera/ el enfermero. Una de las mayores responsabilidades del profesional de
enfermería es enseñar a los pacientes el uso adecuado de los medicamentos, así como sus beneficios y
riesgos. El personal de enfermería de los hospitales es el responsable de la administración de los
tratamientos médicos, la observación de éste y la detección de los posibles efectos no deseados. Por
otra parte en atención primaria este personal desempeña frecuentemente un papel asesor,
identificando las dificultades y los factores de riesgo de forma que el paciente maneje eficazmente el
tratamiento farmacológico prescrito por el médico
El conocimiento y comprensión de la farmacología servirá de base para el desarrollo de competencias
que se trabajarán en las diferentes asignaturas que se engloban en la materia practicum.
