Course context for academic year 2017-18

La asignatura se encuadra en el 5º semestre de la titulación de Ingeniería Civil y es la tercera que se imparte en el área de conocimiento de Ingeniería del Terreno. Se pretende dotar al alumno, tras los conocimientos básicos adquiridos en Mecánica de Suelo y Mecánica de las Rocas, de los conocimientos necesarios para solucionar problemas geotécnicos generales aplicados a la ingeniería y poder afrontar con éxito las asignaturas del área de semestres posteriores, a saber: Construcciones Geotécnicas y Geotecnia de Obras Hidráulicas, que son aplicaciones específicas de Geotecnia y Cimientos.

UA Basic Transversal Competences

  • CT-10 : Capacity to confront, plan and solve real problems demanded by society in the field of engineering.
  • CT-11 : Capacity to learn and apply new concepts and methods in an autonomous and interdisciplinary fashion.
  • CT-13 : Capacity to adopt the scientific method when planning and carrying out different academic and professional tasks.
  • CT-9 : Capacity for group work.

 

Specific Competences (Civil Branch)

  • CE-5 : Understand geotechnics and soil and rock mechanics and their application to carrying out studies, projects, constructions and exploitations where it is necessary to carry out earth movements, foundations and containment structures.

 

Basic Transversal Competences

  • CB-3 : Students should have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (normally within their field of study) to give opinions that include a reflection on important, social, scientific, ethical matters, etc.
