Course context for academic year 2016-17

El núcleo central de la asignatura es el estudio clásico de los sistemas dinámicos tanto en tiempo discreto (ecuaciones en diferencias finitas y sistemas de ecuaciones en diferencias finitas) como en tiempo continuo (ecuaciones diferenciales ordinarias y sistemas de ecuaciones diferenciales), así como de sus aplicaciones en el entorno económico, que se complementa con la consideración de algunos modelos dinámicos probabilísticos (cadenas de Markov) y algunas de sus aplicaciones.
El desarrollo de estos temas exige el estudio de algunos nuevos conceptos y técnicas

  • CG2 : Capacity for team work.

  • CG4 : Apply professional criteria based on the use of technical instruments to analyse problems.

  • CE11 : Analytical skills for developing theoretical frameworks that simplify study of the real economy and the capacity to set appropriate levels of abstraction when studying different economic questions.
  • CE12 : Be able to use the appropriate tools for the analysis, diagnosis and solution of economic questions and problems.
  • CE3 : Bring a rational approach to the analysis and description of any aspect of economic reality.
  • CE4 : Evaluate the consequences of different options for action and select the best one according to the objectives set.
  • CE9 : Understand economic institutions as the result and application of theoretical or formal representations of how the economy works.

  • Use of mathematical language and its application in the representation and interpretation of economic models.
  • To develop the ability to use mathematical reasoning and apply it to real situations in the economic world.
  • To be able to use computer techniques for problem solving.
  • To develop the ability to access the economic information provided by mathematical models.
  • To develop the capacity for the analysis and resolution of problems, both individually and in groups.
  • Knowledge and use of multivariable calculus tools and their interpretation/application in the economic world.
  • To develop the ability to use mathematical optimisation techniques, use of appropriate computer software and its application in the economic world.
