The analysis of slangy and colloquial lexis from a synchronic and diachronic perspective, paying special attention to the way these lexical forms has an impact on the dimensions of linguistic variations.
This subject is aimed at delving into the study of English slang and colloquial lexis, particularly the analysis of lexical and semantic morphology in youth language, as well as those socially marginal variants, deeply rooted in American and British Englishes.

-To be able to describe and analyse the lexicological and semantic mechanisms within informal registers in English.
-To be able to relate slangy units and the social contexts.
-To be able to carry out etymological analysis of colloquial and slangy lexis.
-To be able to carry out lexicological analysis of written texts.
-To be able to compile information on slang and colloquial expressions from written and oral sources.
-To learn how to elaborate lexical corpus of slang and colloquial language.
