Course context for academic year 2017-18

La asignatura Arqueología de las sociedades medievales y postmedievales está dedicada al estudio de la historia material de las sociedades medievales, modernas y contemporáneas, a través del análisis y reconocimiento de sus principales vestigios arqueológicos, atendiendo a la gestión, conservación, difusión y divulgación del patrimonio postclásico en el marco de la dinámica histórica en la que se inscribe. Esta asignatura se concibe desde una perspectiva transversal, haciendo especial hincapié en los debates históricos en los que la evidencia material y arqueológica constituye un elemento fundamental.

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Critical reasoning.
  • CG2 : Capacity for analysis and synthesis.
  • CG9 : Social commitment to the plural and diverse nature of the realities of modern society, from a respect for fundamental rights and the equality of men and women, equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal access for the disabled and the values of a peaceful democratic culture.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Identify, analyse and explain History from a local, national, European and universal context, understood as a complex and dynamic process.
  • CE10 : Capacity to manage resources, computer techniques and Internet to update knowledge using the new information dissemination techniques.
  • CE2 : Understand the relationship between past and present events, processes and conflicts.
  • CE4 : Master the use of the most significant concepts, categories, theories and themes of the different branches of historical research (economic, social, political, cultural, gender, etc.), as well as appreciating the importance that the different economic, political, social and cultural contexts have for research.
  • CE7 : Read, analyse and interpret archaeological records.
  • CE8 : Capacity to communicate and argue orally and in writing in any of the official languages of the Region of Valencia, using the habitual terminology and techniques of historiography as a profession.

1. Conocer e identificar los principales vestigios arqueológicos generados por las sociedades medievales y postmedievales
2. Analizar la vinculación de las fuentes arqueológicas en las problemáticas históricas de las diferentes sociedades que las generan
3. Comprender y valorar el potencial de los registros arqueológicos de los periodos históricos más recientes y su aportación a la Historia
4. Adquirir un compromiso profesional en relación con la gestión, conservación y divulgación del patrimonio postclásico
